SETH RUDETSKY

Seth began working on Broadway as a pianist for shows like Les Miserables and Phantom Of The Opera. He soon connected with Hearts and Voices, an organization that brings live weekly performances to hospitalized people with AIDS and began volunteering for them in 1992, performing at: Rivington House, Roosevelt Island Hospital, the prison ward at St. Clare’s Hospital and the Cardinal Cooke AIDS ward.

In 2001, he produced and conducted "Dreamgirls” starring Heather Headley, Audra McDonald and Lillias White, the first fall concert for The Actors Fund, which was recorded on Nonesuch Records and raised almost $1 million for The Fund. He then did “Funny Girl” with Idina Menzel and Jane Krakowski, “Chess” with Adam Pascal and Josh Groban, “Hair” with Jennifer Hudson (Ghostlight Records, Grammy nomination), “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” with Terrence Mann and Jennifer Hudson and “On The Twentieth Century” with Marin Mazzie and Kathleen Turner. Recently, he authored “Musical Theatre For Dummies,” which is also available as an audio book.

Seth and his husband James produced the all-star Broadway for Orlando recording of “What the World Needs Now Is Love," featuring Carole King, Gloria Estefan, Sara Bareilles, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Billy Porter. The song charted on the Billboard Hot 100, reached #1 on iTunes, and raised over $100,000 for the GLBT Center of Orlando.

He is the afternoon Broadway host on SiriusXM Radio and co-wrote and co-starred in “Disaster!” on Broadway.

A few days after Broadway shut down in 2020, Seth and his husband James Wesley Jackson started hosting the livestream Stars In The House which raises money for The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund).  They’ve had reunions of Broadway shows like A Chorus Line, Ragtime, Cats and The Producers and TV shows like “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Taxi,” and “E.R.”. Before that, Seth and his husband James co-produced the “What The World Needs Now Is Love” recording with Broadway Records (number one on iTunes) featuring amazing singers like Idina Menzel, Billy Porter, Lin-Manuel Miranda and so many more to help the victims and families of the Orlando Pulse Nightclub shooting. He and James also produce and host the yearly “Stars For Foster Kids” concert to benefit You Gotta Believe which helps older foster kids find families (stars have included Tina Fey and Jessie Mueller) as well as producing/hosting 14 Concert For America benefits, which help non-profits like National Immigration Law Center and NAACP (stars have included Patrick Wilson, Chita Rivera and Adrienne Warren).

JAMES WESLEY JACKSON

In addition to conceiving the idea for Broadway for Orlando, James conceived (and co-produced with Seth) the first-ever benefit on Broadway for foster youth. James recently produced and co-hosted with Seth their 10th annual Voices: Stars for Foster Kids benefit for You Gotta Believe, which helps older foster children find forever families.

In response to concerns about the needs of people in marginalized communities, James co-produced and co-hosted with Seth "Concert for America." The first of this very concert series was held at The Town Hall in New York, New York on January 20, 2017.

Over the course of the series (14 in all!), some of entertainment’s biggest stars, including Barry Manilow, Vanessa Williams, Chita Rivera, Melissa Manchester, Melissa Benoist, and Grant Gustin, generously lent their voices to raise money and highlight the needs of the National Immigration Law Center, Southern Poverty Law Center, Sierra Club Foundation, National Coalition Against Domestic Violence and NAACP.

In March 2020, in response to the effects of COVID-19 on the performing arts community, James and Seth created the charity livestream “Stars in the House,” producing over 500 episodes to date.

Also in 2020, James and Seth produced with Sara Bareilles and Marlo Thomas, Sara Bareilles' new recording of "Free To Be...You And Me" to benefit NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

As a writer, James wrote and starred in the critically acclaimed off-Broadway play, “Unbroken Circle”, starring Eve Plumb and Tony nominees Anika Larsen and Jennifer Simard. He also wrote “Art and Science”, a comedy-drama dealing with the generational differences between two gay men. It starred Tony nominees Tony Sheldon and John Tartaglia.

James was also proud to be one of the lead producers on Broadway of his husband’s musical, “Disaster!”

James and Seth are the proud recipients of the National Leadership Award from the LGBTQ Task Force for their work on Broadway for Orlando’s “What the World Needs Now is Love.” For their work on “Stars in the House,” they received a special Drama Desk Award, the Board of Directors MAC Award,  the Founders Award for Resilience from the Cancer Support Community, and a Gotham Icon Award from the Museum of the City of New York. They are the most recent recipients of the TDF Founders Award and the Arts in Action Award from the NYC Gay Men's Chorus.

After years of doing fundraisers and volunteering for a myriad of non-profit organizations, husbands Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley Jackson decided in 2015 to form their own 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that would quickly address issues concerning social justice in the form of entertainment.

UNITED VOICES FOR CHANGE (formerly Your Kids, Our Kids) specializes in producing programming that not only entertains but also educates and empowers audiences to get involved, as well as raising much-needed funds for a variety of other non-profit organizations.

In 2015, when New York City cut funding to You Gotta Believe, the only foster care organization solely dedicated to finding older foster youth and young adults forever families, James and Seth produced the very first concert on Broadway for foster care in less than 8 weeks. You Gotta Believe was saved and now Voices: Stars for Foster Kids is a yearly event and has featured stars like Tina Fey, Darren Criss, and Megan Hilty; former foster youth like Rosie Perez, Charlene Tilton, and Antwone Fisher; and adoptive parents like Laurie Metcalf, Donna Murphy and the late Willie Garson.

In June 2016, the Pulse Nightclub Shooting occurred in Orlando, Florida. Days later, Seth and James had assembled over 40 stars from Broadway like Lin-Manuel Miranda, Idina Menzel, and Carole King to record "What the World Needs Now Is Love" to help the victims and the families of the shooting. It went on to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 and raise over $100,000 for the GLBT Center of Orlando.

In December 2016, James and Seth knew there would be soon be non-profits affected by budget cuts and so they began a monthly concert series that took them around the country called "Concert for America." In addition to entertainers such as Chita Rivera, Barry Manilow and Vanessa Williams, it highlighted the work of the NAACP, The Sierra Club Foundation, Southern Poverty Law Center, National Immigration Law Center and the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

Seth and James continue to produce these shows when need arises and most recently did one in January 2025 simultaneously from both New York and Los Angeles, starring Jon Cryer, Lisa Joyner, Kelli O'Hara, Wayne Brady, Conan O'Brien and many more to help fund relief efforts for the L.A. wildfires through the California Community Foundation.

In 2020, four days after Broadway shut down due to Covid-19, James and Seth debuted Stars in the House, a twice-daily live-streamed series to support The Actors Fund (now The Entertainment Community Fund) and its services. It featured reunions of Broadway shows, television shows, and movies and has produced over 500 episodes to date.

As of May 2025, Stars in the House has raised over $1.3 million for the Entertainment Community Fund and over $700,000 for other charities like Waterkeeper Alliance, International Rescue Committee (for Ukraine in 2023), The Humane Society of New York, Congregation Beit Simchat Torah (NYC's first Gay/Lesbian Synagogue) and many more!

With new (live) shows airing weekly, Stars in the House is a combination of music, community, and education located on the Stars in the House YouTube Channel, where viewers can donate LIVE and have their donations and comments read aloud by James, Seth, and guests.
